Learn Spanish in Canoa

Just outside of the center of town in Canoa, heading down the road towards Sector “El Recreo,” just past the river on the right-hand side (the beach!) is the Sundown Inn and Canoa Spanish School.

Accommodations at the Sundown Inn are comfortable, and the relaxed atmosphere is exactly what you would expect at a beach lodge. The Spanish classes are the best place to learn in Canoa. Hotel Fun Lun in Manta

Hotel Lun Fun Manta may have a bit of a strange name, but for a night in Manta, it is a great place to stay. Rooms average about $65 dollars a night, they are comfortable, and the service is great. A number of rooms have views of the ocean, and the hotel is centrally located in Manta.

The restaurant at Hotel Lun Fun is considered to be one of the best in Manta, serving a variety of local fairs, my personal favorite being the ceviche.

The hotel is located at Av.11 and Calle 2, and offers free shuttle service to and from the airport, a complimentary American breakfast, Cable TV, A/C and laundry services.

One hour drive west of Cuenca you will find El Cajas National Park, known for its biodiversity, famous for its 200 plus lagunas. Comprised of 70,000 acres of diverse terrain, El Cajas is the best place in the region to get lost in nature. Hiking is a very common pursuit in the reserve; most of the park lies above 3,000 meters. Amazing vies can be seen from the summits overlooking the lakes. Fishing is also quite popular, particularly for trout. Other wildlife that can be seen in the park includes puma, bears, and llamas. There is Read more
